Soccer Shots sun-maid ta petrol United Soccer Coaches US Soccer Federation Wilson trophy company we managed to Nationals and that was amazing because we were one of the best I think at the time was of four teams it was a round-robin and actually it was the best four teams in the whole nation and so we thought we were just the next best thing since sliced bread and I think that playing in that tournament was so surreal because you saw you played against other club teams that were so good and and at the same level as you that you you know don't necessarily always get the chance or opportunity to play against which was so great for us because we right wow these girls are at like just as good as if not better and we have to compete at the highest level and play these three games or I thought yeah I was around Robins wood before but still that just reminds me of how competitive I was in my teammates were at that age which also I think helped me get to the next level in being that competitive at the club level I mean has only helped me you know continue to grow the national championships it was really really special I think that was like the biggest thing I had really won and that's kind of for youth soccer growing up but was kind of the ultimate prize and I think we were always super ambitious and in achieving that and to have that happen and I think what's so special about youth soccer is that it's really your family the girls that you grow up with become like your sisters and and you do everything and there's just like such a strong camaraderie there so to play with the team that you play for for a while with and with these girls it's a very special feeling to to win something those were really great moments because at such a young age I feel like I was competing for something and really working hard to you know perform for my team and it was no longer just about you know whatever the result is there was I mean at the end of day you know you win some you lose some but that was probably the moments that I was like whoa we got a win we got a state championship on our hands that we could actually bring home and I think those are really cool moments because you know you remember a lot of the times that you win you know you you try to remember the losses as well because you do learn from them but at the same time you you want to remember the wins that you have so state championships were definitely a really important part of my memory eras our state Cup was fun my team was very competitive I mean we had a lot of competition as well but I can't remember how many we want maybe nine I think is what we counted with with our team which which mean it's so much fun that was always like the big goal at the end is win stake up go to regionals and go to Nationals and we always fell short going to Nationals so it still hurts today to even talk about but I had so much fun and in those tournaments and my team was what made it even 10 times better to be a part of I get to play now in front of huge crowds and with all this spotlight and attention and I don't think I'll ever have that feeling that I did going through my you 14 national championship I remember winning state Cup I can tell you how I scored what the score was I remember going to Hawaii that was our regionals Region four and I remember that national championship and I think that it stays with me so much because it was about camaraderie it was about growing and learning who we were and you know making these lifelong bonds my name is Tony McManus we are the oh one lady Lobos rush out of Memphis Tennessee you know we were we were here in the finals last year unfortunately did not did not finish it outs but that gave us a little bit of motivation going into this year it's been crazy and it's just been like really hard because everybody here is so good and everybody is good cuz they win their steak off and so are other ways to get in and so it's been really difficult but we pushed through it we were able to come out on top for us is a little difficult because we work with a lot of underprivileged kids kids I can't afford to really play a big club so we're very small we haven't been around very long which is we put in a lot of work with the kids we picked them up we've been working with these guys you know just try to give them a future and something to look forward to get them out the streets put them in a place where they can come and just have fun meet other kids and train hard and just give them a goal whether it's college or to the next level so we've been very successful at doing that at this level so it's just it's been a great process it was 1935 the year that Elvis and Sandy Koufax it was a year of many firsts including the first NFL draft the first Monopoly board game went on sale Social Security began and Babe Ruth hit his last home run in addition to these milestones the National Junior Challenge Cup was founded in 1935 offering a youth competition for young men in the United States the cup was later named the James P McGuire cup after the lake US Soccer president who himself was quite a standout in his earlier days winning the US Open Cup in 1929 McGuire would lead US soccer and earn an international reputation as an excellent leader Jimmy quiet Cup was started 1935 it was the only Cup that the United States Soccer Federation had for youth players and it was a very good competition and I can tell you I mean it was the highlight of my soccer career to be a champion in 1954 this storied Cup now the oldest trophy in youth sport it has a history as a meaning I think as tradition I think it's extremely important for our competitions for all these groups that kind of emulate the mcguire cup one in the McGuire cup is huge just because all that history that comes along with the oldest trophy and youth sports period that's really big for us this tournament it's great competition I mean you just have to work all these teams are belong here all these things worked so the competition was fantastic and start to finish and when you get to play in a facility like this it makes it even more worthwhile traveling there six and a half hours to get here you okay you you you welcome to the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex here in Overland Park Kansas side of the 2019 USU soccer national championships I'm top Newland I'm here to bring you all of today's exciting 16 and under boys group action between st. Louis Scott Gallagher and Syracuse developmental academy let's give you the starters for today's game will start with Syracuse who will be wearing at the orange their starters are going to be Caden Stafford out in the field joined by Carter Jackson as well as Thailand Mulcahy joined by Phillip Phillips as well as Donovan dwell Jacob Leonard they'll leper Cameron Stewart Kayson Stafford and Aiden Burke in goal it's going to be Eric Juicin for Scott Gallagher their starters out in the field that's going to be Tegan done joined by Shawn green as well as Aiden Morgan also in the field kollross and Carson Gibbs Jalen corn John Cordia Evan brown and Mik Hannon and in goal is going to be mailed in SEMATECH both these two teams with everything to play for still the chance to advance to the knockout round coming up on Saturday we'll get you a little more background for these two teams as we go along throughout the broadcast just about to get underway here with the Syracuse getting the opening possession st. Louis Scott Gallagher out of Fenton Missouri Syracuse Development Academy from Syracuse New York headed up by Shannon Colton Kevin Thibodeau head coach for st. Louis Scott Gallagher elite as we open up Scott Gallagher wrestling possession away in the early going both of these teams trading possession back and forth pilfered away along the far side Syracuse trying to push upfield and heard wasn't able to go very far at Gallagher will set it up from their defensive line try to put it up through the left hand side space hard to come by here in the early going corn with it on his foot dropped it back now would return pass for corn a little too far towards the mill back up the right for Syracuse Hanan I couldn't see what he's got in the way of options coming over here to the right Ross not quite able to keep it in Syracuse we'll get it off the throw Syracuse finished they lost in the semi-finals of their regional pushing up field as Phillips switching the point cut out of the middle green heads it forward but Syracuse was able to win their regional representative game winning 6-1 over tsf Academy way back in the East Regional tournament Syracuse comes in the record of 1 & 1 they beat Baltimore Celtic on day number one by a score of 1 nil but then lost to FC Dallas 6 to 2 yesterday and that loss by that amount of goals is what's kind of put them behind the 8-ball here today they have to win in order to advance no other a result would see them go through Gallagher able to clear close to a handball and it was did come up and last it up towards a forward line brought down Kelly got a piece of it not able to keep it under control though Burke going back the other way served up over the top nobody making a run over there on the right side SLS ge pulling it up from the backside a little bit of a nudge was able to push Morgan off the ball all the way back 7h Ross walks the tightrope keeps it in along the sideline a little too much arm involvement there so Scott Gallagher will get a free kick not quite four minutes played yet but in the midfield by hand and trying to pop it over the top – Ross got a little too much on it so that'll give it back to SDA keeping that in very nicely along the sidelines Morgan doing a good job back through the midfield though almost a giveaway Green able to come up with it for Scott Gallagher pushes to the far side for dun dun looks up the wing making the run was Kelly you couldn't quite get on the end of that one second opportunity for Scott Gallagher to push up the wing Pat Gallagher one of the bigger clubs in the st. Louis area to be more than a dozen clubs that were well known nationally in the st. Louis area just when rolling up the near sideline that'll stay in good speed from stafford slows it up just a little bit defender backing off stafford takes it back out in front on the right foot looking to do something with it switches the point of attack one-time shot coming in good idea from jake leonard but ultimately savage was in behind it confidently with the hands but first shot on goal of the game for syracuse da scat Gallagher elite kind of an interesting story coming into this national tournament still with every opportunity to advance and fast in fact the slightly better odds to advance just based on the opportunities that they have but they won the national league black with a record of three and one no draws but then they failed to exit their group at Regionals going one and two it could have been one of those situations where they rested a few players knowing that they had everything locked up with a National League Championship too tall for Kelly and he's got some ups all the way back for Juicin looking for Stewart Stewart again a line drive through the middle open chance score Phillips snuck in behind the defense and give Syracuse developmental Academy the one nil lead so an early strike for the team from Syracuse as it was a nicely weighted ball defense there was a little bit of a gap up the middle and they were able to exploit it and then Phillips calm with the finish a goal in the eights minute to Syracuse developmental Academy Casey Philips getting the goal get things kicked off for SDA and as we've seen throughout this tournament the initial chances don't end up always meaning a whole lot as st. Louis Scott Gallagher seemed like they were the team more on the front foot but a counter-attacking opportunity again but Phillips called for a little bit of a nudge in the back trying to switch it over here to the nearside st. Louis on the foot of brown having to go back around gets it back from Hannon Syracuse starting to really put on some good pressure here now though team and yellow starting to struggle now to the top of the box the wording that one was Nick Hannon he's got Gallagher trying to press it onto the counter-attack a little bit of space gain from the shoulder into the defender just outside the circle and now they come to your wing stolen away good job Stafford looking back near wing now Stafford again that was Caden to hasten back out top Kaden try a shot build tour no the flag is off no goal Lions been very definitive put the flag up rebound was offside it stays one nil sigh of relief for Scott Gallagher Melvin sabitch went down got a piece of the initial one but it's caped his grip as goalkeepers tend to do kind of looking down at the gloves wondering what's going on our wing Syracuse really starting to build into this game Leonard to the top of the box Leonard take it down referee says no trying a quick counter-attack up the left side st. Louis pushes it in towards the box trying to connect to Cordia the Scott Gallagher finding themselves behind after a good start in the first couple minutes but it's been all Syracuse since then SDA trying to home SL as G there's a contact in from behind clipping the ankles Brown gonna take the free kick coach Colton still employing the four it's official and he thought his team hard done by the no pancake all right down towards the edge of the box too many orange jerseys in front again now try to spring to counter head it up into the air but not under control Caden able to win this throw by putting some pressure on Stewart will come up to take it and then he's called out at the last moment Phillips the gold scorer put it back into play headed towards goal by casein sky Gallagher finding some difficulty clear and that went out and it was a good chance back towards Cole once again it was Phillips sending that one in he had eyes on that upper 90 but there was just no curve on that ball at all 15th minute of play Phillips with the goal in the eighth minute stands is the difference right now that bird called for the foul referee calling him over giving a final warning Cayden l to get it taken loose now we get a whistle and we're going to get a player in the book the yellow card hand it out Carson Gibbs given the yellow you see the hard foul the referee in good position to make that decision so Gibbs an important player through the midfield for Scott Gallagher he's gonna have to be watching out for the rest of this game it's any more hard fouls and he might be watching the rest of this one from the bench high into the Box goalkeeper stays put now one-time volley took a deflection on the way through they slide it in and a goal Syracuse is now up to nil Stafford with the score Cayden stafford able to get that one under control and just nudge it past the goalkeeper to put his team up by two goals so a fantastic start for syracuse to Vetal mental academies you see two defenders down but Caden Stafford able to get to it first before he does some sort of swan leap don't know what you would call that I don't know if that was planned or spur-of-the-moment nevertheless in the 17th minute Stanford doubles up Syracuse is lead Syracuse developmental Academy setting themselves up to advance to the next round with an excellent start still plenty of time for scat Gallagher to come back in this one but Syracuse doing what they need to do because they must win here today to get to the knockout round after a good first couple minutes for st. Louis Scott Gallagher it's been all Syracuse since then and now Scott Gallagher struggling to even string some possession together here's Kelly trying to do a little too much himself gets it caught up still using his size to keep advantage into the box now for allomere he wants to put one in towards boxes the fresh substitute just came in had a good opportunity towards goal but nothing much came of it in the end and that shows what kind of game it's been so far with Scott Gallagher is Hannah and kind of slipped over the top of that ball it allowed her to run out Kelly trying to bring it back towards the middle allomere gets it trying to slide it through the idea was to put it in to Morgan but now they have to regroup Syracuse gets it back in off the throw little too far that didn't come close enough to the box so sabotage had to kick it out it's been a rough game for him so far he's seen three goals get past him only two of them counted one of them he was bailed out with an offside call after he juggled the rebound just enough to allow somebody to run on to it keeping control here on the near sideline is green Green finds some space in the middle to hand it off Ross who had been more on the wing with Green's entrance he's pushed into a more central role coach Thibodeau looking for something to spark this team back into this contest under the possession of Cordia put into a dangerous area but it's too much orange there Kelly trying thought about a bicycle settles down but allomere a little to touch on the flick Kelly misses on the volley and then cleared away with a bicycling volley to clear it out far side now for Cordia sticking out the leg was green otherwise that was off to the races once again for Syracuse st. Louis Scott Gallagher starting to get a little bit more possession comes here to Kelly on the near side Kelly going to take a rip Juicin was well positioned Syracuse managing to move their way up the sideline drawn the free-kick now another admonishing by the official he's trying to take the temperature of this game doesn't like it's getting a little bit heated pre-kick put into a good spot just a little too tall for stafford he was kind of left alone zonal marking sometimes that's always one of the big debates in the game today whether it's a zonal or man marking there's pros and cons to each one Kelly looking for Almere and it just went hard off the knee and towards the goal towards the near post Phillips is there Phillips cutting it back towards the end line well played by the defender Hannon trying to send it away and it was looking for a call Kelly comes over and just sends that one out to give his teammates a little bit of a breather Philips to put it back in head it away from the center low lining shot they have a substitution coming in for SLS G Kelly will come out and into the game is going to be equation francis chance for the recently inserted francis to get his first touches on the ball takes on the defender but there wasn't much space to be had well spotted by stewart now they look up the right side for Francis just a bit too slow on the pass Ross lays it back continued on by hemming flag goes up Stafford is offside I'll back up now file going the other way the official did a good job overall but the players obviously not all that happy on either side I'm starting to get a little bit heated between these two teams not necessarily even directed at one another but it just kind of spills over one way almond is able to win that one getting it over Francis into the box went down no call wasn't anybody looking for a call on the sky keller drew bench either back the other way Stafford sends it over the right players kind of clipped each other on the way through sky Gallagher comes up with possession here on the right Francis look it up to al-amin looking for some space and he'll win the corner kick good service I manage it's going up Juicin was there as well still in the box though then ultimately skyed way over the target time slipping away here in the first half 29th minute to play one nil to nil excuse me in favor of Syracuse developmental academy first goal coming from Casey Phillips back in the eighth minute of play matched by a cadence Stafford stab at it in the 17th trying to hold it in along the near sideline and there's a foul and a yellow card coming up hit a bitch called for the foul he's going to be given the card I've Dover the top I'm for Stafford his habit egde comes out physicality in this game definitely picking up Francis had it stolen away by Stewart Stewart able to muscle off his opponent there puts it through the wickets keeps it alive pushing it out towards the right Syracuse trying to get it into the 18 yard area served back towards goal savatage comes out to make the grab that one didn't miss by much sliding challenge able to keep it away Syracuse really starting to put on the pressure here as they are able to steal it away from behind and then somewhat of a late whistle and it's going to actually be a free-kick favoring Syracuse developmental Academy trying to slip that one through the wall ask him for a touch on their way through did sound like it hit somebody but difficult to tell who it would have been that ends up being nothing but a goal kick SLS G going short off the gold kick lobbing run over the top nobody there and to get it over the top to allomere again more physicality called in the midfield there's a lot of tussling going on both these teams know what's at stake Scott Gallagher can advance with a win or a draw Syracuse developmental Academy needs to pick up a win and they're well suited to try to do so now almost sneaking in it got past the goalkeeper but then the shot was cleared away as it approached that in line building up some attack now is Scott Gallagher has it on the right with Francis Francis slows it up sees what he wants to do wants to pull it back towards that end line and then too much contact from Francis as he looks a little bit upset 34th minute too tall for Colton transition opportunity here for SLS G they try to force it over to the wing Ross that one runs all the way through to the goalkeeper savatage out to the wing trying to build some possession here but there's always an orange jersey right in the back pocket SDA slides up from Bourke looking for stafford couldn't find him take us up and we get a foul that's coming out substitution about to check in now for st. louis scott gallagher coming into the game is Carter Van Buskirk Van Buskirk is in and Ross is out in the 36th minute Syracuse has a player warming up it doesn't look like they're intending to make a substitution all that soon as they have it now with Stafford effort gets it back looking towards the outside Stafford rips one that's parried away out for the corner solid strike from about 18 yards out stabbed away as it was out from about 16 yards put back in by Mulcahy sabotage clattered into draws the foul like good opportunity there and jump and challenge that one and the touch that will allow the substitution to come in now for SDA coming in to is Jackson card card comes in he replaces Phillips Scot Galago trying to put on some pressures Saladin was making the run couldn't quite spot him I'm here switching the point of attack pass wasn't quite on to get it to Francis contact again in from behind and more fouls being called the referee trying to rein this one in nice touch around the defender trying to keep it in along the in line unable to do so synthetic turf was said not good at checking up those balls playing on real grass perhaps that might have a better chance of staying in but the surface just one of the issues that teams have to play with everybody playing on it gotta learn the role of the ball too tall brought down by Van Buskirk trying to get it up to Saladin hanbal gives the free-kick to st. louis scott gallagher time waning away on this first half three minutes of additional time will be tacked onto the end comes into a dangerous area the volley not to be had rebound loose still chopping at it Van Buskirk with his back to goal trying to spin it towards target now longshot rolled along the ground and scooped up by Juicin Stewart took it from Colton almir putting on pressure held in by Saladin take it away from behind but Saladin called for too much contact Stewart over here on the new your wing that's it back towards the middle Kayson put it over to the right looking inside for Caden never quite got it more and more opportunities for Syracuse developmental casein able to win it just south of the midfield stripe possession give it away kids try to keep it alive it's saladin and Buskirk spun around push up the field well defended Hammond to Van Buskirk and again the service through the middle intended for Al Marin was cut out going through the middle it was player on either side on the striking position those teams almost acting like they expected some sort of whistle that said there's only one or two players on each team tracking the ball I'm through to Van Buskirk bring it it up the left wing st. Louis trying to get a late goal here in this half not too much time remaining one in the attacking third going for a linear went for the bicycle the defender was right there and then the secondary shot coming from Saladin was right at the goalkeeper we still could come at any moment after he puts it in his mouth close it and we played 40 minutes the first few minutes were all Scott Gallagher and ever since then it's been all Syracuse developmental academy getting the first goal in the eighth minute and then a second in the 17th so we go to the break with the score to nil in favor of Louis Scott Gallagher against Syracuse developmental Academy SDA with a two nil lead after the break as they look to try to punch their ticket into the knockout round come Saturday win and they will advance Scott Gallagher can win or draw and they have a chance to advance right now they have to at least get on the board for that to even be a thought process try to go over the top of collision between stafford and morgan no foul called another crunching tackle this time the foul is called they tried to go quick with it the official didn't feel like the ball was spotted so they're gonna bring it back there's the goal keeping change is three kick taken headed towards gold and took a touch on the way through that kept it away trying to spin it away ultimately it's out for the throw so Jenny bar now in goal with Scott Gallagher now the volley touch to the game now for a bar as it was right at him trying the right side now they pop it over the top but that's gonna have too much pace and too much curl towards the outside corne put it up the line looking for Kelly it says Scott Gallagher's kind of returned to some of the lineup they started on now a 2v1 pressure coming back from Van Buskirk extra player joining the attack the shot and just wide look like Barr might have gotten a piece of that one whatever the case it was very close to being three nil Syracuse instead they'll have to settle for the corner Syracuse already with a decent lead and they continue to put on the pressure corner from the near side played out towards the penalty spot kind of a blind stab puts it back into a dangerous go three-nil in favor of syracuse developmental academy so Caden Stafford with his second goal of the contest coming in the 45th minute a twofer Stafford Phillips with one Syracuse looking for more popping wood over the top and stepping in front of it was done bar was going to come out as well but with everybody kind of coming together at the same time had that popped through that would have been interesting to see how that played out kelly flicks it on wanted to get it over to Saladin it's dead back the other way Syracuse chasing it down here on the near side a little bit of a bump in from behind referee spotted it driven in my leper gets into the box takes a couple bounces Leonard takes it into the 18 serves it up are able to make the grab 47th minute we'll play 80 in total Ross to the right Hannon putting on the pressure Stuart had to take it away briefly Stuart gets it back corn was the one putting on the pressure Cayden into the box an opportunity here now from the near side back towards the middle it's gonna be difficult to get a foot through that to get a shot on that but still might have been a better decision than what actually happened and even coach Colton telling dule that he probably should have tried to put a left foot through it headed away from Kelly goes into touch flag without another throw in for st. Louis cat Gallagher's they try to find their way into these contests they find themselves down by three goals SL SG lost on day one three two against FC Dallas they beat Baltimore Celtic yesterday to give themself every opportunity to advance here today all they really needed was one point but they're gonna be hard-pressed to pick that up Syracuse is just really grabbed this game by the scruff driven away by Hannon Scott that was Ross in possession looking for space here on the near side a bit of a heavy touch and then it's poked away from saladin opportunity to push forward now Caden perhaps looking for the hat trick puts it back on the right foot and then the shot was blocked Ross up the line Kelly is in behind sent her back coming over in support Kelly has to slow it up to orange jerseys right around him laid it right in Gibbs who is on a yellow card kind of bumping around with Stuart just outside the box then they throw in somewhat wasted is that went directly out for the goal cake fourth official in the main official having a discussion just kind of talking over what went what what went on behind the play just kind of to keep something an eye on as there was a mainly incidental contact it looked like between Gibbs and Stuart but that's kind of what led to that extracurricular activity just outside the box so just something to keep an eye on for the officials more an incidental contact is Gibbs Goes Down and that one slit just wide wouldn't account it anyways the flag was up over on the far side last offer yellow is that was too tall for dual done tried to sell it as belonging to Scot Gallagher instead it's going the other way Leppard up the line trying to get it back dual cost going the other way I'm for corn yellow card hand it out the yellow card handed out to Cameron Stewart and towards the Box Ross find it a little bit of space back out in front hello them folly was there but he couldn't connect and then confidently out to grab it afterward Juicin solid goalkeeping once he saw that one pop up into the air off the shin Cordia had that volley set up but just couldn't quite swing the hips through it takes an odd hop off the turf up and over bar sets it up for done large gap between the defenders in the midfield for Scott Gallagher's or try to push numbers forward in the attack sometimes that could make it easier to defend though as you have large quantities of bodies in one area Stewart solidly stayed on his feet made the defending play but then gave it away on the pass on here to the near side saladin had it picked off his shoelaces is coming out to grab it was Juicin saladin little upset with himself that he couldn't keep that one a little closer to the body but as quickly as Juicin came out I'm not sure it would have mattered there was a slight heavy touch but really it wasn't all that far away that was just a well time to play by the goalkeeper saladin being muscled off by leper Saladin plays it up and that one's out for a goal kick approaching 56 minutes played three nil in favor of Syracuse first goal came in the 8th minute from Casey Phillips and then 2 from Caden Stafford 1 in the 17th and 1 in the 45th horn looking for any kind of space he was hemmed in along the sideline and then a giveaway Syracuse trying to set it up Ron was made by duel but they couldn't quite get it to him do all keeping the pressure on st. Louis trying to switch the point of attack Scott Gallagher brings it up here on the left wing passed the left find Saladin Saladin takes on the defender good job of shielding it away by leper I want to ends up staying in is it had enough English on it Dunn was a player right on him flag stays down and Paul stayed in blasted up field by green Caden left it Stewart ran into his opponent now here's to old duel what a same county bar planted that right foot into the ground and then left to his right to keep that one away as that one was earmarked for that side netting solid save right there after an even better shot not even do all thought he had to fourth goal of the contest for SDA still an opportunity to put one in off the corner miss Gallagher going to make a substitution when they are allowed the kick will happen first out of air underneath this one flick towards goal rebound and another save made bar being tested quite a kick from this side here back towards the middle Phillips try to get a head down on to it but that one was dipping too quickly another opportunity is there's a low service now Kelly 1b1 he needs to take on the defender quickly not just a grounded Kelly into the 18 pass the goalkeeper can he get to it it's on too tough of an angle tries to put it back out in front and it's out that's been the way that it is gone for Skye Gallagher here today their best opportunity of the game and it just slipped past the goalkeeper a little too much a great run from will Kelly but there just wasn't an opportunity to finish as all that speed generated ended up kind of doing him in in the end 60th minute of play Saladin puts in the corner going back post out Merritt there and he puts it into the side netting Scot Gallagher creating two of their best opportunities of the game and that neither one really forcing a save if you can kind of get yourself into the game maybe that's all you need Kelly from the wing got a little too much on that one trying to serve it into the middle none into the back called for the foul he's visibly frustrated Stewart sets up the free kick much too direct for it are comes out makes a grab quick counter-attack trying to set it up for Saladin your cept it in the midfield back the other way we go Leonard up the middle I don't now to duel with a good shot parried over by bar that one was kind of knuckling on him a little bit that's why I just kind of had to stick out a hand push it over another corner kick upcoming for Syracuse let's again head it away away from that back post as it was about halfway between the penalty spot and the six yard area eggs kind of caught up with each other corn comes up with it gives it back Hanan up the wing corn taking out the defender there was a bit of an arm out just kind of shielding himself off it ultimately the ball had too much speed off that initial touch headed away I done boss down again spun around Cordia looking for any kind of space just too many orange jerseys Syracuse once again right in the back pocket of just about every Scott Gallacher player if not as soon as they received the ball just right after Kelly drives into a little bit of space keeps it on the left foot now into the box a little bit of space and once again that help defender coming back and bailing out his partner opportunity now for Stanford to push forward Carling ball into the path ends up towards the top of the box Green sends it back out corn gets it in the midfield slows it up least one up the near sideline and tend to that one for Saladin but it wasn't quite to be 66th minute three nil to score in favor of Syracuse developmental Academy again he attempt was to loop it over the top to Saladin down putting out some pressure wasn't able to get there now green in a footrace with Stanford chance now for Philips rebound and another save bar able to get back to it see the initial chance coming here from Philips left foot are able to make the save but put the rebound in just about as bad a spot as you could get right near the penalty spot but to left foot saves Jordan Bennington would be proud of those almir with a chance and he steers it wide – subs coming in for Syracuse and reading the game it's Connor kanavan as well as excuse me that's Tyler Colton looking at the wrong roster Ethan karana so Colton and karana come into the game for Syracuse changing up the look of the forward lines now too far out of the reach of the studs of Saladin Judson just kind of electing to slow it up causing Saladin to use up a little bit of extra energy to chase that one down done up doesn't get to it held in nicely karana it sit back after he held it in along the line and then miss pass and the return back for Phillips Kelly on the far side corn making a run up the middle Kelly will just dribble it through puts it on towards the left sliding challenge keeps it away Saladin just outside the six yard box Kelly was diving after it but it was cleared up and over him karana puts it into the middle Phillips had it knocked away this one's going to stay in Hannon moved up into a more of an attacking role as a st. Louis Scott Gallagher knowing they have to throw a little bit of caution to the wind not too much time left in the overall sense not quite 70 minutes played so still a little over 20 minutes left in regulation but when it's gone almost 70 and you haven't had a goal sometimes you have to alter your game plan to try to pick one up substitution will check in for Scott Gallagher as Evan brown will come into the game so Brown is in Morgan out it seems kind of caught up in the midfield right now looking for a long ball and once headed over almir gonna try to shield this one out does it even need to goes out for the corner kick gonna kick somewhat wasted that one never even had a chance substitution coming in for each team when we have a next break but in the meantime Syracuse pushing into the attacking third again is that rolls towards the middle of the pitch Scott Gallagher will take it Claudia I thought he was getting away with a little something there but Moki he was right on him now I'm okay he a little bit too much in on the challenge and he is going to get a yellow card so I'm okay he and Stewart sitting on yellows now this winter enters the game for Scott Gallagher and coming in once again for Syracuse is Jackson card at the next stoppage Francis will re-enter the game for Scott Gallagher it's a ball to flex over here to the near side even the long name long legs of Almere was not able to keep that one in Ross bit of a bump from behind Ross able to steal it back done had no options has to come back brown Bob's went up the middle deflected on through the run was ill-timed as it was coming off the initial touch and then the second time through Frumkin from Cordia winner had already stopped card try to step into it it's got Gallagher so I bounced off of them last throw in to Syracuse Francis will come in its going to replace Jalen corn Scot Gallagher going with a different attacking look this time it said in the first half they put Francis in for Kelly this time Kelly stays in been somewhat silent in the last few minutes but Scott Keller there's kind of been pushed over here towards the near sideline Kelly is open over on the far wing but difficult to get to him Brown does find Kelly along the sideline pushes back into the middle eating up yardage sending it out to the right one time in and just too much in behind that I don't mean couldn't quite bring it down popped way over to the far side Ross trying to flag it down ends up into touch throw in the sky Gallagher little over four minutes left in regulation Kelly pushes into the box service out in front again from the angle and the pace is difficult to tell if that was intended to be a shot or a cross ended up kind of in between both ended up bending all the way out along the touch line so it's a throw some pops over the middle well done by green kidding around to Syracuse players but the final one was one too many green wins it back took a little bit of a hip cuz he was up in the air and threw him off free-kick taken if they go quickly with it looking for a layer over the top he settles it down in the 18-yard box pressure coming he uses his size to avoid it but three jerseys right around him all in orange tell me you're able to play it off and out so it'll be a corner well flighted ball just outside the six yard area Amir was there Francis put a little too much on it to be tracked down all finally in not sure what the holdup was how to contact there along the sideline it was spotted Teigen done looking at the official asked him what he was supposed to have done but it was one of those situations where he thought it was a shoulder challenge he did go in with the shoulder but when it goes into the players back it ends up being a little different Syracuse just lobs it up the field Green was there to intercept Ross through the middle Cordia slipped the pass was too far behind card giving Scott Gallagher another opportunity Ross had it stepped into my case and Stafford won't quite settle down for card initially it takes it over towards the left card doing a good job and then the second opportunity for Carolina he wasn't able to chase it down Oh chip pass into the path of Stuart I was knifed out Kelly goes the other way time ticking away on this game Kelly goes down in a heap good sportsmanship there just a hard foul nothing more 80s minutes haven't seen any firm indication of how much time will be added on to this one three minutes of stoppage time gonna be tacked down to the end of this game line drive kick little touch on to it Francis was there but so was the defender the goalkeeper is all the way out bar was in there trying to get a piece of it and the score flag stayed down so the goal will count in the 81st minute Scott Gallagher able to finally poach one back but they still trail by two and that's an interesting turn of events if coach Colton is to be believed apparently the attacker force Gallagher was kept on side due to a player getting a drink so you cannot cause a player to be offside by stepping off the field that ends the shutout bid but Syracuse still in firm control because we are in the second minute of stoppage time flag goes up Scott Gallagher will have the throw free kick this time to Scott Gallagher time ticking away they need to push numbers forward everybody up including the goalkeeper bar is up by the half line just to collect any loose change should have come his way but the free kick was much too direct and easy grabbed there for juicing Juicin seeing the goalkeeper was out trying to get it up top to card back the other way for Dunn Stafford stuck a foot in was enough to keep that past close to the sideline too much contact though in from behind and a free kick given to Syracuse time ticking away here not fast enough for Syracuse fans the ball headed out collision but getting to it first with Syracuse as it comes over here to the nearside bar place it right into the Syracuse player putting on the pressure was Carolina's backspin on the ball wouldn't settle down Cordia wanted to go for the volley he didn't have time to set that one up Kelley takes on two defenders couldn't split him slide that one up the sideline and now here comes card all he has to do is drive it towards the corner he wants to take it towards goal instead that one goes out for the goal kick and with time ticking away Green a little bit frustrated that there wasn't an extra ball to be had to take a quicker goal kick and with the kick the whistle goes full time is head and Syracuse developmental Academy punches their take out to the knockout round they join FC Dallas coming out of this group FC Dallas had already punched their ticket getting two wins in the first two days and it was a
