REPORTER: TODAY WE ARE GOING OUTSIDE. PAUL AND JAMAL, A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE RIPPING UP THEIR YARDS AND THEY WANT TO SAVE MONEY. WHAT’S GREAT ABOUT THE MONEY IS USED CAN PUT IT INTO ANOTHER 500-DOLLAR PROJECT. REPORTER: THIS COULD BE KIND OF HARD. LOOK AT THIS YARD. THEY HAVE DONE A LOT. WE ARE THE ONE THAT’S GOING TO GET DOWN ON OUR HANDS AND KNEES AND PUT AN EFFORT INTO CHANGING THIS FRONT YARD. REPORTER: WHAT’S THE FIRST STEP? WE WILL GET RID OF ALL THAT GRASS AND YOU WILL ASK YOUR FRIENDS TO COME AND HELP YOU. THEY WILL HELP YOU RIP THE GRASS UP AND RIP OUT ALL THE OLD PIPES FROM THE SPRINKLER AND PUT IN A NEW DRIP SYSTEM. THERE ARE WE HAVE A LITTLE TRIP SYSTEM HERE. WE WILL ADD ONE OF THOSE EACH PLANT. WE HAVE ALL THE SMALL TZIPI CAN PUT DOWN. WE WANT TO ADD A WALKWAY TO THE FRONT DOOR, WE CAN DO THAT. THEY USED CRUSHED GRANITE THAT WE CAN USE SOMETHING ELSE THAT’S LESS EXPENSIVE. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT ALL THIS FOR $500. REPORTER: $500 DOESN’T SEEM LIKE A LOT TO DO REVIEW YOUR WHOLE YARD. MATERIALS ARE NOT THAT EXPENSIVE AND LABOR IS EXPENSIVE WE ARE DOING THE WORK. WE CAN GET A TRUCKLOAD OF MULCH FOR 50 OR 100 BUCKS. WE CAN GET PLANTS THIS BIG. WE WILL GET SMALLER PLANTS. WE WILL STAY AWAY FROM PLANS LIKE THIS BECAUSE THEY ARE MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE. THESE ARE CALLED MOTHER HEN OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. YOU CAN CUT THEM IN HALF. THAT BREAKS OFF AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT OFF AND PUT IT SOMEWHERE. IT WILL BE A WHOLE MOTHER PLANT. IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS WHO HAVE IT GO TO THEIR HOUSE AND GET A CLIPPING. ON THE WAY OUT THE DOOR. TIME FOR THE CHECKOUT LANE. WE HAVE THE REMOVAL OF THE OLD GRASS.
