How To Assemble A Takedown Recurve Bow

How To Assemble A Takedown Recurve Bow

This is a tutorial for assembling your
Archery Tag recurve bow. First, let's make sure that you have all your parts.
Lay them out on a clean surface and confirm that you have the following: one bow string with finger-saver and
nock (the finger saver is the rubber grip and the nock is the metal ring located
just above the finger saver), two recurve limbs (the limb with the logo will be
attached to the top side of the bow; the blank limb will be attached to the
bottom), one Archery Tag riser (the AT logo is located on the bottom side of
the riser), two stainless steel limb bolts, one five-sixteenth inch allen wrench, and one
bow stringer. Now align the riser and the limbs as
shown here by inserting the white pin on the riser into the
slot of the limb. Align the bolt holes and insert the
stainless steel bolt to secure the limb to the riser. Avoid over-
tightening! Just turn until the bolt is snug. Repeat this process to attach the second limb. Lay the string so that the metal nock is
located above the finger saver toward the top of the bow. Place the top loop of the string loosely
around the top limb and pull it down to create slack in the string. Place the
bottom loop of the string inside the grooves of the bottom limb as shown here.
Slip the pocket of the bow stringer over the tip of the bottom limb. Then loop the rubber end of the bow stringer
over the top limb. Pull the bow by the handle and place your foot
on the string of the bow stringer, pressing it to the floor. Pull the bow
up by the handle to arc the limbs. Then slip the top bow string loop into
position inside the grooves of the top limb. Check to ensure that both ends of
the string are securely in position, then remove the bow stringer. This is what your bow should look
like when fully assembled. Congratulations on your purchase of an Archery Tag recurve bow. We hope that it provides you with many fun and
safe experiences!
