How to Clean Vinyl Siding – With or without Pressure Washer – Oil Eater Cleaner Degreaser


Vinyl siding is a popular choice due to its durability and resilience. It’s made to withstand the elements, but after a few seasons it can start to look dirty and dull. You can increase your curb appeal and extend the life of your vinyl by removing mold, mildew, dirt and grime with a simple cleaning routine. Here’s what you’ll need to get the job done: Bucket, Garden hose, Soft bristle brush or pressure washer and Oil Eater Cleaner Degreaser First, fill a bucket with a 10:1 mixture of water and Oil Eater® Cleaner Degreaser. Then hose down the section of siding you’ll be cleaning. Now scrub the siding from top to bottom with the cleaning mixture, using enough pressure to clean without damaging the surface of the siding. And finally, rinse the siding well with water before the cleaning mixture dries. Working in sections, repeat these steps until the job is done. If you’re using a pressure washer, cover any nearby landscaping that could be damaged We also recommend wearing safety goggles whenever using a pressure washer. Next, prepare your pressure washer by filling your pressure washer chemical tank (if equipped) with Oil Eater® Cleaner Degreaser, being sure to dilute with water per your manufacturer’s directions. If no dilution instructions are available, use 10 parts water to 1 part cleaner as a starting point. Next, wet the section of siding you’ll be cleaning with water. Now apply Oil Eater® Cleaner Degreaser using a low pressure setting and a 25-40 degree nozzle tip. Spray the siding in a downward angle from bottom to top to keep the surface wet. Rinse using the pressure washer “water only” setting, moving from top to bottom before the product dries on the siding. Repeat in sections until you’re finished.
