Kevin Hart’s car ‘was not equipped with necessary safety features’


Kevin Hart has undergone spine surgery after surviving a horrific car crash in his custom 1970 Plymouth Barracuda last week   And car experts believe the comedian’s custom car lacked the necessary safety features that could have prevented his injuries, according to TMZ   The website spoke with several owners of car customizing shops specializing in performance vehicles, who claimed it was ‘highly unusual’ for vehicles with 720 horsepower to lack a five-point harness and roll cage  The car was reportedly only equipped with old school lap belts.   One of the shops the website spoke with was Rad Rides by Troy, who built Joe Rogan’s Hemi-powered 1970 Barracuda, the same type of car Kevin owned Shop workers said Rogan’s car had a five-point harness and roll cage, and were shocked Kevin’s vehicle was not similarly equipped    SpeedKore, the company which customized Kevin’s vehicle, did not have comment when reached by TMZ about the safety features   Kevin is said to be doing ‘okay’ but still in severe pain after a brutal car crash left the comedian severely injured The star is recovering and will soon be transferred to a rehabilitation facility after having surgery to repair the three spinal fractures that resulted from the accident, according to insiders who spoke to TMZ Though Kevin is on ‘heavy pain medication’ he’s still feeling an immense amount of discomfort Kevin plans on moving to a rehab facility early next week, or possibly over the weekend  The healing process will last ‘months and months’ according to the insider.Kevin was injured on Sunday night when his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda crashed through a fence on Mulholland Highway in the Malibu area Kevin was a passenger while his friend Jared Black was driving. He also suffered serious back injuries
