  3. It took me awhile to learn what was going on, but Hey! I'm learning German while learning longswording pieces! That's a two-in-one feat! I can see why people want to learn longsword from this. I love the background music, the scenery, and their medieval attire: it sets a great background for a great longswording performance!

  4. I love these videos. They start out with a strike. Then they show how to counter that strike. Then how to counter the counter. Then how to counter the counter to the counter. Then how to counter the… hell you guys get it. Amazing stuff!

  5. Wow, this video was 9 years ago and no one noticed how to do Longsword teachings since Kendo's and Laido's are overrated at that time. It's a shame that they didn't introduced to Japan.

  7. I wonder how such superbly trained and skilled Central European swordsmen (early 1400's till the middle 1600's) would fare against this quintessential, fully trained and proficient Japanese Samurai. What a battle that would prove to be! Though my $$$ would be on the Japanese Samurai (at least 6 out of 10 times).

  9. When I watch videos like this i get the feeling that it would be a lot different if they were actually fighting to the death. All of our experts today probably wouldn't stand a chance against an actual period knight in a test of arms.

  10. Not very practical with how you do your techniques.    Meyer gets low with arms extended  and  Wallerstein says ," get  low in the body, high in the sword."

  12. Holy shit…. That is some good footwork. KUDOS! I would be terrified to fight either of you in a duel.

Holy shit …. Das ist eine gute Beinarbeit . KUDOS !

  13. Ever since I started HEMA a few months ago I have watched this on a regular basis since this is the video that sparked my inspiration. Every time I watch it I get something new from it. I also noticed that there are two longsword YT vids on this channel, what's the difference?

  14. After a year of longsword, I'm just starting to be able to see what's happening here.  It's like learning a new language.
